About

I build software products end to end, and the systems underneath them: the integrations, data and automation a business actually runs on. Over the last three years I've led frontends for streaming, crowdfunding and SaaS products, run systems for a US retailer, and founded Schola, school management software now used by about 10 Nigerian schools. I trained as an electrical engineer, and I still think like one. The app is the front face. The system underneath does the real work.

The journey

From engineering student to systems person.

I didn't plan any of this. Each step showed me a bigger piece of the system behind the screen, and I kept following it.

2017 - 2022

The engineer

B.Eng. Electrical & Electronic Engineering, FUTO

Five years of circuits, signals and feedback loops at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. Second Class Upper. It taught me to look for the system behind whatever is in front of me.

2022

First lines of code

Full Stack Development, Zuri Team

I started building for the web seriously, one small app at a time.

2023

Leading a frontend

Lead Frontend Developer, The Pake Group (Noslag)

My first professional role: the frontend of a multi-tenant inventory platform, and my first real integration, with an online marketplace.

2024

Owning a whole platform

Lead Frontend Developer (Contract), Fuse ERP

An ERP from architecture to production: accounting, payroll and inventory, with a component library and admin dashboards to match.

2025

Four products at once

Senior Frontend Engineer, Tentz

Streaming, a filmmaker studio, an ads manager and crowdfunding for African film. I owned the delivery, payments and search included.

May 2026

Founding Schola

Founder & Engineer, Schola

School management software for Nigerian schools: results, fees, attendance, payroll, CBT exams and an AI assistant. About 10 schools and 500 students today.

September 2026

Becoming the systems person

Systems Specialist, The Indoor Golf Shop

For a US retailer: the reporting the leadership team runs on, the integrations between Shopify, ShipStation and customer service, and the automation in between.

October 2026

Teaching it

Becoming a Systems Person

A written course for developers who want to own the systems, not just the app.

What people say

Bill Graham The Indoor Golf Shop

The greatest benefit so far is that he's been self-sufficient & driven. I feel comfortable that I can give him a few key details and he's got a mind that can work the rest out on his own. He's also done a good job running things by me to ensure his understanding is correct, and his proposals for fixes seem sound.

Nomso Okpara Founder & CEO, Tentz

While working with Increase, one thing that stood out for me was his ingenuity and creativity in solving product problems and developing working systems. I regularly used to call him the smartest person in the team. This is a testament to not only his capability but also the quality of his work.

Sharon Stars International School Schola customer

The product solved each and every pain point we had, and more. It was great working with Increase. He always understood how to convey a pressure point to a solution, and was very hands-on in making sure we had a great understanding of the product.

Kouakou Pacome Domagni Chief Operating Officer, The Pake Group

Chris has consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment, initiative, and technical proficiency, making him an invaluable asset to our team. He not only led the frontend development but also collaborated closely with the backend team to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.

Writing

I write about building software, the systems behind it, schools and, now and then, football.
